Camille Olsen Ormandy an Artist in her Studio
I have a side project named Carte Blanche in which I make artist profile videos under a minute long for social media. In this one which is part of a group of about ten short videos in whic we meet Camille Olsen Ormandy a young Artist based in Sydney, Australia. Camille speaks to us in her Bronty studio, whilst she paints one of her signature style portraits of her friend and fellow Art student Emmeline Morris. During these series of interview she touches on her inspiration, which ranges from family to popular culture and history.
Creating flower photographs for a large format print exhibition
This video was filmed over a couple of afternoons in the home studio of Art photographer Gary Heery. Gary's early carear was celebrity portraits in Hollywood and New York. He did a lot of album covers for record companies and celebrity portraits for magazines and gained International recognition in the process. Since returning to his home in Sydney, Australia, Gary has changed direction in his work and now focuses his lens on fauna and flora for Art exhibitions and books. Despite a change in direction Gary continues to employ the same love, wonder and rapport with his subject matter which enabled his early success with portrait photography. During the film Gary works on his latest series of photos which are radically different to his last series and he explains the photographic techniques he employs to get these results. Including his bespoke lighting set up and the use of the FUJIFILM GFX100 large format camera combined with 110mm Macro lens to capture the amazingly detailed images needed for his large format prints. Gary also takes us briefly through the final stages of preparation for printing at Sun Studio's in Sydney. Including the photoshop retouching through to the final test print on cotton rag paper.

Continuing The Masters of Photography Series-"Made-Up" with Gary Heery
Continuing my series on master photographers, I teamed up with my new mate Gary Heery. Unscripted as ever, I wanted to show how Gary approaches portrait photography and his work in general. The film is shot as SunStudios in Sydney as Gary works on his new exhibition featuring make up artists. This exhibtion is a labour of love for Gary and so he is free to express himself without boundaries. It was also a labour of love for me so I get to work free of constraints to produce an Authentic portrait of Gary’s work.
Basically for me this Series is what I was looking for as a young aspiring photographer-A real view of how the masters work in order to learn how to work myself.
